PSYCH LAB …
…a seasonal membership for practitioners who know information isn’t enough and want the part that actually changes outcomes.
A living LAB for women who want to become more psychologically skilled, commercially sharp, and quietly hard to ignore in their work.
What is PSYCH LAB?
Because knowledge isn’t your problem.
You already care.
You already work hard.
You already know your craft.
But when your work depends on people changing, engaging, trusting the process, or staying with discomfort, this is the layer that becomes your unfair advantage.
The part that shapes:
The depth and subtlety you bring into the room
The level of discernment you bring when things aren’t straightforward
The quality of your thinking when others stay at the surface
And the kind of work people don’t just value, but actively seek out
That level is rarely taught properly.
And yet it is often the difference between being good at what you do… and becoming the practitioner people seek out, speak about, and don’t easily forget.
That is what PSYCH LAB is built for.
That level isn’t built through more information.
It’s built through how you think, notice, and respond, first in yourself, and then in your work.
That’s where PSYCH LAB is different.
Not just theory.
Embodied practice.
Because you cannot hold something well in others that you have never had the courage to meet in yourself.
Inside the LAB, you will:
Sharpen how you read what is really happening in our interactions
Refine how you respond in real time
and strengthen the part of your work that people can feel, even if they cannot always name it.
INSIDE THE LAB
Each season is built around a central psychological theme, explored over three months through a thoughtful, structured rhythm.
Inside each month, you’ll receive:
A Core Psychological Session
A focused session designed to deepen the month’s theme and sharpen how you think about people, behaviour, and practice.
These are not surface-level CPD sessions.
They are designed to be psychologically rich and professionally relevant and will take different forms (written, video, case-studies for example).
A Live Coaching Call/ Conversation
A space to think, reflect, and apply what is surfacing in your work and life alongside other intelligent women doing complex, human-facing work.
Field Notes
A written reflective companion to help you notice patterns, integrate ideas, and stay in contact with the season in real time.
Guest Perspectives
Across each season, I also bring in thoughtful guest voices from Psychology, health, culture, behaviour, or adjacent fields.
This means the LAB stays curated, spacious, and alive and not overwhelming.
Previous guests include
Dr Claudia Hammond(BBC), Jenny Radcliffe (People-hacker), Sophie-Grace Holmes and Orla Adams (Motivational Interviewing trainer UK).
This is not surface-level CPD.
It is the part of your practice that becomes your quiet advantage
CURRENT SEASON | SPRING
Where does meaning become medicine
A season exploring ritual, cultural healing, symbolic practice, altered states, and the parts of human change we have not yet fully explained.
Not everything that influences human behaviour fits neatly into explanation.
And yet, in practice, you will already have seen it.
The treatment that works, but not in the way you were trained to understand.
The conversation that lands because of something subtle, relational, or symbolic.
The approach that resonates deeply for one person, and not at all for another.
This season explores that territory.
Across the spring, we’ll look at:
Ritual and repeated human behaviours in healing and change
Cultural and ancestral approaches to care and recovery
Practices that appear effective before we can fully account for them
The role of belief, expectation, and meaning in outcomes
Emerging conversations around interventions such as Psilocybin in Mental Health and Trauma
And how to hold all of this without losing professional rigour
This is not about abandoning evidence.
It is about becoming more thoughtful, precise, and grounded when working in the parts of practice that don’t always fit neatly into it.
Because this is often where your work becomes either:
Uncertain and difficult to navigate
orQuietly powerful
You also get a Seasonal Book Club
Each season also includes a carefully chosen book that sits alongside the theme, not as homework, but as a richer way into the conversation.
Sometimes it will sharpen the psychology.
Sometimes it will stretch how you think.
Sometimes it will simply open a door into something you may not have explored otherwise.
The Book Club is one of the ways we keep the LAB thoughtful and alive, bringing ideas off the page and into real practice, reflection, and discussion.
who is it for?
Good question.
I’ve said female Healthcare Practitioners & Coaches here, but let me tell you about the women already in there…they are:
Physiotherapists (all areas)
Osteopaths
Sports Medicine practitioners - doctors
Sports therapists / soft tissue therapists
Speech & Language Therapists
Health coaches
Sport Coaches / PTs
Coaches - Executive/Life and Creative coaches
Leadership/Business Coaches and Trainers
*If you are from disciplines other than Healthcare, please be aware that a lot of our of work/discussion will focussed on healthcare and issues surrounding this*
The other important aspect of this community is that as is standard across all my courses, training, teaching etc - that this is soley for integration and not for the purposes of re-teaching.
Simply put this is not be re-taught in any format anywhere (including social media), as it is not a train the trainer course. If you’re unsure as to what this means, I have very clear terms and conditions which can be accessed HERE.
These are implicit in any purchase made. Thank you.
What next?

what current members say…
“Psych Lab provides me with connection to peers all over the world to share experiences, continuous professional development, and challenge to my thinking with interesting speakers and rigorously evidence-based resources, and it provides me, as a small business, credibility.
This simultaneously improves the content of my client work and provides assurance that my work is based on current practice and academic research.
And it is fun!”

“I really enjoyed the last coaching call. I can get quite nervous in groups but feel comfortable with this one. It's rare to find like-minded people who actually listen and enjoy bouncing new ideas around.
And it's rare to find a programme like Psych Lab. Really relevant issues and high quality content that's fun too! So thank you for all the work you're putting into it.
Really looking forward to it and to meeting the new members”.

“When PSYCH LAB first opened, I was delighted to join straight away. I’ve been a fan of Serena’s work for a long time so I knew when she launched this that it would be excellent, and it is. The sessions we’ve had so far have been so interesting and totally relevant for anyone working in behaviour change and coaching, and it’s much more in addition to the input.
The community is a great range of passionate practitioners from a mix of specialisms, which generates some really enlightening and engaging discussions. The book club is a fab addition and I’m looking forward to the next discussion, which even includes the author herself! How’s that for added value?! I’m always looking forward to the next sessions and 2025 is going to be brilliant.
With some amazing speakers, and sessions on things like perfectionism, imposter phenomenon, motivational interviewing and play, it’s all highly relevant to helping me to improve my coaching practice.”
There is no pressure to consume everything, no performative participation, and no hustle-culture energy disguised as professional development.
Because thoughtful work needs space.
The LAB only opens once a season.
While a season is running we remain closed to honour the Practitioners already inside who are deep in thought and already having the conversation.
Your Investment is £52.00 per month and you may cancel at any time.
Once inside you have access to previous Masterclasses.
“if you want to go fast go alone. If you want to go far, go together”.
If you decide to join us we will all be delighted to meet you!
